I've heard that some dress very casually (jeans) while others dress more formally.

Depending on what you're attending, you will find a wide variety of attire! You won't see many people in trainers or tracksuits, nor will you see many people in full formal wear. Most people wear smart casual to the theatre - ladies might wear skirt/blouse or trousers (referred to as "slacks"!) while men tend to wear jacket with/without tie, jumpers and cardigans.

As long as you are clean and presentable, anything is welcome! Enjoy the play.

Casual, but nice. Slacks are fine for women. Men: ties and/or jackets preferred by not required. Try to avoid shorts, t-shirts, sloppy dress.
