Actually it's not unusual. I have friends had their period once every three months. It can be affected by stress, lifestyle, losing/gain weight and might be the missed ovulation ( no egg released from ovary). If you are sexually active, it could be a sign of pregnancy. The best way is go for the doctor, don't feel shy or embarrassing. It's normal, every gal could have the same problem.

P's : I don't think anemic have much relationship with period so
don worry.

take k

I am wondering if you are also anorexic? You need to talk to a dietician. One suggested by your family doctor is probably best. A girl without enough body fat can have a lot of problems with hormones. Improper diet can lead to this and anemia.
If you are very controlled about what you eat and are dieting all the time you know it.
In cases of anorexia you need some counselling.
Many young women can cause permanent damage to their eyesight and cardiac status, skeletal structure, etc. with anorexia.
You really need to get medical advice hon.

If your sexually active then i would take a pregnancy test - if not then i wouldn't worry too much about it but i would deff ask your doctor - women usually don't have a "normal" cycle until their prime which is almost 30's - also if you are under any stress that can have something to deal with it - i would freak out but you need to go see your doc just in case - i hope this helped

If you're in a sexual relationship, take a pregnancy test to determine whether or not you are pregnant. It is likely you'll be pregnant if you Are in a sexual relationship and are also vomiting alot [morning sickness..]

Make sure you're eating healthily, and speak to your doctor if your period still doesn't come along within a week. If you're still worried, get a test from your doctor for sexually transmitted diseases - STDs can stop periods and can make you infertile.

I would go to the doctor and get your iron level checked. If it does infact come back low then your doctor can put you on iron pill's. Also eat lots of red meats, beans, veggies and foods that are rich in iron.

I hope you feel better soon!

doctor...
anemia is serious... and is something you shouldn't play around with...
at 17 your menstrual cycle isn't the way it's gonna be. especially if you just got it a few years ago...
but you should really ask your doctor

my best advice is that you consult a doctor ASAP! if you are underweight...this is common thing, but it is also dangerous. this could hurt you now and later in life...when you want to have kids. and if you have been sexually active...it could be whole different problem altogether.
