I just bought a 1996 18ft. Sun Tracker pontoon boat with a 60hp motor. While the boat is running there is a loud beeping that will not shut off. The oil level is full and the water pump is working. What can be causing this? Where can I find a on-line owner manual for this boat?

A constant beep would be overheating, an intermittent beeping would indicate an oil flow problem with the oil injection pump. Just because its full doesn't mean its getting oil. Check it out before its damaged. Suggest you contact the manufacturer for the owners manual. Maybe the local library would have something.

since you say Tracker, i suppose that's a mercury engine. remove the cowling and look under the oil tank for 2 blue wires coming out of the bottom. with the key on unplug one of those wires. if the beeping stops, you need a new reservoir/sending unit. pretty common problem after 6 or 8 years. after 11...not bad.

I won't nod approval, though there is a long shot. Knowing
the fast rate of refinance clubs, over 30% of the professional
boaters have a lo-jack satellite system. If everything works
it could be it had stolen boat insurance. This system is also
lately under high scrutiny for illegal aliens entering property.

Sounds like your (hot) alert, Better be sure it is not running hot, Thermostat may be stuck (or) faulty hot alert.(or) water pump not pumping at full capacity (care-full don't burn it up)

it is probally the oil level warning check the oil if its ok your switch is knackered
