We have DSL Broadband also and I haven't experienced the "echo" issue on the phones but we had other issues.

We conatacted Verizon and they came to the house and tested the circuitry. They replaced the phone box on the side of the house for a newer design. Our house is 20 years old and the phone circuitry had some "capacitance" issues and that was giving us the problems. The newer design phone box fixed those issues.

Another thing that Verizon recommends is that your PC and phone be on separate lines from the phone jack. You can get a connector at Walmart or Radio Shack, etc. that plugs into the wall jack and it has two separate jacks available. I think is called a 1 to 2 connector (or something) like that. Once you have that you get two phone cords (Walmart, Radio Shack, etc.) and run one cord to your phone and one to your PC. This made a difference for us also.

Hope this all helps.
