It is possible (though unlikely) to become pregnant despite not having a discernable menstrual cycle (ie. not having a period or the usual indicators of ovulation).

If you are really keen not to become pregnant in the next four months, use condoms.

If not getting pregnant in the next four months is an absolute must, abstain.

Yes - you do... also a bit more info on "After a Miscarriage: Getting Pregnant Again" see link below
I hope that some of this information helps. It's a tough one to deal with emothionally - (speaking personally) and I know that for me waiting a bit longer helped deal with the loss of the child I'd miscarried. I personally believe that until a woman is emotionally strong again after such a loss they should be wary of getting pregnant right away. For their own physical and mental health as well as to reduce the stress level that they have going into their next pregnance.
Good luck to you no matter what you decicde - with each person, each couple the choices MUST be their own.

Again Good Luck !!!

If you haven't had a cycle and its been over a month I would suggest talking to your gyno. They will be better at telling you what is the best solution for this problem.

If getting pregnant for 4 more months is an absolute must, at the very least use condoms to protect from pregnancy.

Also, you may want to talk to your dr. about having sex after a miscarriage and a D&C. They may recommend against it anyway!

I think it is possible. I know this isn't exactly the same, but I went off of BC last month and ovulated right away, and now I'm pregnant. So I guess you never know when you're going to start ovulating again. I think it would be a good idea to use protection.

Yes it is possible to become pregnant after having a miscarriage. I did! I miscarried in early August of 1999 and discovered I was pregnant in early October of 1999. Fortunately, my son was born and will be 7 this April.
