what is the best position order, is pitching important in fantasy baseball?

Pitching is important, but so is hitting. Don't worry about position order like you do in football. Look for the best player on the board, if that is a pitcher, take a pitcher, if it a 1st baseman, take the first baseman. After about rounds 8 or 9 you can start to worry about filling in holes. Also, keep yourself open to the possibilities of punting a category. Say you took the best player on the board the first 8 runs and you got all power hitters, there is no reason to burn picks on speed that could be better spent.

There is no specific order. Just make sure you take couple speed and power guys. Pitching is important too try to get decent pitchers. In the first round if speed/hits/runs is available take it. You could always take pitchers and power hitters later in the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Hitting First. As for positions, you don't really draft certain positions first, its just the matter of whos good overall, and build your team up from that.
