BBW- 'Big beautiful woman'. So because they are big they must be beautiful? Slim women don't all go by the abbreviation SBW! I'm not saying big cannot be beautiful, but surely you can be big and ugly as well as big and beautiful!

Its all a matter of self confidence, Big women are forever being told they are are fat and ugly by society so they try and redress the balance

I always thought BBW was an assertion of confidence in the innate beauty of women. Like: all women are beautiful, but since I'm big you'll assume I think I'm ugly, and I don't think I am.

well not all big women call themselves BBW so I would assume that they are not the beautiful ones.... the ones who do call themselves BBW however are the beautiful ones. If not in physical beauty then in confidence and spirit!

I suppose they're sick of the misconception that big is ugly that they say beautiful. But I am slim, and do wonder why there are such double standards...'Models are slim, but curvy is in!'...that kind of thing!

I always thought of that as Big Busted Woman or Big Bummed woman to be honest. Beauty is relative. Bums and Busts are for the touching.
