They assume because of all the hot guys in the ads, and that the workers there tend to be on the effeminate side, that it's a gay man's store. I'm sure they don't mind too much in order to compete with other stores and all the money they are making.

I believe because of a story that Abercrombie and Fitch were gay men. When I was a Retail Manager in the high fashion industry, there was that rumor.

They (A&F) have really worked the whole 'gay aesthetic' thing into the ground. If I were a straight boy, I would never wear those clothes. Look at the ad's: semi naked young men, butt crack showing, hand on crotch... looks like the cover of a bad porno.
It's one thing to be sporting goods, and show healthy happy, sexy bodies that people can look up to, but these ads are really just mini-porn for SOME gay guys. (I am a gay guy, and that look does ZERO for me).

I don't know. I don't own anything A&F. I notice kids owning clothes from there, I think its like piercings used to be. Only gay guys had piercings years ago but then kids noticed how cool it was so now everybody it seems has piercings. So if A&F started out gay, like other cool trends sooner or later the straights take it over.

Yes, but only a gay man would pay $30 for designer underwear.
Correct me if I'm wrong here people... And in no way is this gay bashing.

Because A & F stumbled upon the idea to tap the lucrative gay market by appealing to them.

I don't know. Personally, I avoid it like the gay plague. There's just something about being an "Aberzombie" that I find incredibly unattractive.

Welcome to the fickleness of fashion trends.
More than half the stuff in my closet is, at least this year, unwearable.
