how do you get rid of the wep security on your router

Running a WiFi router with no security is an extremely dangerous thing to do. You would be opening yourself up to people using your Internet connection for illegal purposes. WEP is easily crackable and maybe better than nothing. What you need to do is switch the security to WPA.

youll have to go to your router manufacturer's web page or look in your manual to find out how that router is accessed. You usually type in 192.168.1.1 and then have to enter a user name and password. Once there you will have all the options that model has to offer. Security settings should be among them and all you need to do is set the fields for WEP to none/off/disabled or whatever your router offers as choices.
