Don't you mean ANTIdepressants?

Have a look at the wiki page about antidepressants.

If you are talking about CNS depressants, that is a different thing. You would have to look up the various subclasses.

Please clarify your question.

well, could answer all of the above, but, sounds like you want a paper written for you on this...but, you can go to any website like lexapro, prozac, ect..and it will tell you eveything you need to know, but, if you are wondering for yourself and think you might need them or if you just started taking them, I've been on all kinds and had all kinds of reactions to them, from getting more depressed to crying for nothing to gaining alot of weight, which the weight which at the time mattered more to me than the depression which I know is stupid now, but, now I'm off and not depressed and it just depends on what you need this info for, if you are thinking about them, or getting on them, which one and so forth ask your dr. they are the experts, plus your pharmicist will give you a sheet plus talk with you about all of it, and if you just want someone to talk too ordinary about it, you can email me...good luck
