I think you should so that it could be checked for infections and so that it might heal faster. I f you leave it underneath the artificial nail it might get an infection or not heal properly. The pain might be a sign of healing or it might be telling you that it's fighting off bacteria. You might want to check with your Doc. before you do anything though, because in removal of the artificial nail might cause even more damage. Only a Doctor can say for sure. Hope this helps.

Ouch I have done that before. I put a band-aid on and just left it and it healed and then I took it off. Just watch and be extra careful you dont get an infection.
