do u have any weird wording u use for particular items that other ppl might not recognize? like for example here in wisconsin we call a water fountain a bubbler and most ppl are like huh...

In Australia we call

Soda . . . . . . soft drink.
jelly . .. . . . . . . . Jam
Flip flops . . . . thongs (that one can get really interesting!)
Restroom . . . . . . toilet
Etc, etc, etc.

i'm from Rhode Island and we use the term bubbler too, but thats just the tip of the ice berg. A sub sandwich is a grinder.

I call soda "soda" but I've heard people call it "pop". In NJ we drink iced tea at restaurants, and down in the South they call it "sweet tea". In England and elevator is a "lift" and the bathroom is the "loo". In Spain, the bathroom is "W.C." which stands for "water closet".

I have a lot of weird wording since im from Cali... and everyone here in Pa looks at me weird when I use it.

LOL! i am from Glasgow, we have hundreds of them, we speak a language all of our own despite it supposed to be being English! add in the accent and outsiders have no chance!

Sometimes I refer to ruined milk as "blinked;" some people think that's funny. My mother always said the milk "blinked" when it soured.
