All anyone has asked of Iran and North Korea are that they stop any programs that could be used to make nuclear weapons. No one has denied them the right to nuclear energy and many countries, including the United States, have offered to help them get their nuclear energy programs up and running. The offers have included reactors, fuel and technology. Russia even offered Iran the to let their scientist run centrifuges on Russian soil to produce fuel. These rogue states have continuously refused any offers and continue with programs that have the capability to produce nuclear weapons. If their intentions were truly peaceful, why would they not take the help and equipment to get their nuclear energy programs up and running?

Do you seriously think that Iran doesn't want to make nuclear weapons? Look back on their history. And, if you haven't heard, North Korea HAS nuclear weapons. This wasn't started so they could have nuclear power as an energy source.

all the major powers have agreed not to have nuclear weapons. Iran and North Korea did not agree and could easily use them against us. we use nuclear power for energy, but not to kill the rest of the world. Iran and North Korea might and the rest of the world doesn't want to find out.

I'm worried about India and Pakistan having nuclear weapons. Accidents are hard to avoid. During the cold war America accidently dropped bombs and crashed bombers many times. Mostly we lost bombs over the artic, but one disintigrated over Spain, spreading radioactive debris. The fewer countries with that responsibility the better. I guess nobody could stop India and Pakistan, but we feel like we have the power to push Iran around. As for North Korea they're crazy, and shouldn't be allowed to have bottle rockets!

Iran and North Korea can make all of the electricity they want.
What the world is concerned about is that Iran and North Korea are run by fanatical maniacs. Kim Il Jong is 5' tall and wears lifts in his shoes, fancies himself a movie star, and runs North Korea like a prison camp. He has starved his people while he rules them like a king. He is also mentally unstable.
Iran is run by religious fanatics who believe that Americans and Westerners in general and anyone who is not a Shiite Muslim is a heretic and should be killed.
Both countries have been processing and enriching Plutonium to make enough nuclear fuel to build atomic bombs.
The U.S. (and China with North Korea being next door to it) and the rest of the world are worried about unstable, fanatic governments having control over nuclear weapons that can glaze the planet over for 10 milleniums, destroy all life forms as we know them today, and likely plunge the planet into total extinction.
And finally to answer your question, the US is trying to destroy most of its nuclear and biological stockpile to reduce the number of planet killing weapons at home, as well as abroad.
However, all of the above being good and well, most Iranian people just like most North Koreans just want to come home, have some food on the table, know that they have a roof over their heads, and maybe if its possible watch TV at night and engage in other family or individual activities, none of which involve the destruction of the planet..
Does this help?

well north korean can use nuclear weapons cause thier communist and lots of people are way too afraid to comfront them, and when your a communist country I dont really think that you would care if other countries told you not to use your nuclear weapons. I dont kow why people would trust the US with nuclear power anyways, cause the whole hiroshima thing and the crazy man bush running the country, so yeah umm the people who trust the US with nuclear power should think about the guy whos running the country. and no one should trust any country with so much power (as in like weapons and stuff)

Wow!
Look at some of these answers and you realize just how naive Americans can be.
Wake up!
Anyone who does not understand that nuclear arms in NK or Iran would be a tragic, mistake is either uninformed or just plain stupid.
Fair?
Was it fair in the old Westerns that the Lone Ranger stripped away the villians guns while holding on to his own?
Of course not!
It was smart and safe.
Wise up!

we don't opt for Ahmedinijad to have nuclear weapons because of the fact he as quickly as stated he might wipe Israel off the map. He additionally as quickly as denied the holocaust ever occurred (he HATES the jews). we don't no longer opt for Kim Jong-il to have the nuclear weapons because of the fact in 1950, they raged a war with south korea fot 3 years. And the son of the chief of North Korea decrease back then is Kim Jong-il, the present chief. all of us recognize that the communist united states of america nonetheless needs to break the loose united states of america to the south.

it is a good way of staying safe these days...
think in this way.....for having nuclear power with them..they are making them safe..
iran, for example is in middle east and have oil in possesion...
many giant countries like US can land Iran and claim as theirs.
having nuclear power, it assures that no other country will try to invade their country & their wealth...
bloody US bush invaded iraq and destroyed everything, just with an excuse that is untrue or does not bite bush's butt...
North korea is certain that without nuclear power it is vulnerable....
US is trying it's best to invade korea & get the nuclear power....they are only afraid of nuclear power....
if Iraq had a nuclear energy...i am sure bloody bush would not have dared to invade iraq with his lame excuse.....
