With 7days, you have sufficient time to pass to each and all the three places you suggested till you're making plans to pass to different places too. Genting Highlands is approximately an hour force from Kuala Lumpur and Melaka is approximately 2 a million/2 hours force from Kuala Lumpur. I advise you reside in Kuala Lumpur for 2 days to pass to all those vacationer places and carry out a little procuring and head up Genting Highlands to have some exciting and to sit down back your self out, stay 2 days there and then pass to Melaka for a million day to pass to regularly historic web pages and a few antiques procuring.

If you go by car or taxi.
there are 2 cable car station
old one is at opposite of Awana Resort and the new one its in gotong jaya.
If you drive from kuala lumpur go to gotong jaya town, it is in the mid way to genting. when you reach gotong jaya there is a bing round about, take 10 o'clock turn (not 9 o'clock turn) , just follow the the cable station sign and you ll find it.
if you go to the old cable car, it is 12 o'clock from the round about head stright until you find a very small round about and turn 9 o'clock and you ii finf it.

Just take a highway to Kuala Lumpur. Take a exit at gombak. The exit will stated to Taman Melawati / Ulu Klang or KLCC. Just take that highway.. just follow the direction to KLCC. You wont get lost.

I cant explain it to you right now. You will forget it.
Just drive out of Genting Highland and follow the signs. It is that simple.
Alot of people drive from there to KL, vice versa.
You can ask the locals too. But choose carefully. hehe..
