my french horn recently became extremely muffled n plus it makes it harder to even produce a sound. needless to say, it is aso much harder 2 juz blow air into the instrument...

aniway evenafter i remove all the valves and turn the french horn round, the muffled sound still stays there.. wat shld i do 2 get rid of muffled sound?

P.S : btw my french horn is not spoiled or dented in aniway..

make sure your slides aren't in the wrong way (like slide 1 in valve 2, etc.) maybe take off your rotary valves and clean inside them if you know how...check inside the horn to make sure nothing big is stuck...i know it has so much tubing it's hard to check (maybe a flashlight would help?) Ask a specialist repair shop in your area (like a marshall's or Anderson's music.) Hope you can get it fixed!

okay, well this sounds kinda like me. lol you might need to get it chem cleaned. it really helps a lot! the day before region band my horn started to do that too, but my band director just told me to get it chem cleaned. when you go, be sure to tell them that it's an emergency so that they will take care of it faster. otherwise it will be there for weeks! but i had it the next day and it worked perfectly!
