I mean the continent is kinda locked in wars spirals, mass corruption, epidemics and desis, ..... and africans seems to be less in control of ther future.

Simply put, we are seeing the long-term consequences of 5 centuryies of exploitation, beginning with the slave trade, continuing with European colonialism and, even when that ended, the partition of Africa into countries with boundaries that didn't reflect local societies or internal organization 9what was left of it by that time)--and the setting up (post-WW2) of client states that did not represent interal interests, but were designed to serve the national interests of the former colonial powers.

African societies will recover, eventually--but you can't undo 500 years of exploitation and disruption of social and cultural systems overnight--it will take decades--particularly since the West ern nations hasn't been all that interested in doing much to repair the damage they caused. Mostly, except where there was money to be made, they mostly just walked away after WW2.

I'm trying to figure it out too. My interest in Africa has been piqued by great movies like 'The Constant Gardener' & 'Blood Diamond'

Yes...out of control....failure.
Its been like that, for the last hundred years or so.
So.....do like most blacks do....
Blame the white man.
The whites took over, North America. (U.S.A.) What happened ?
They turned it into a Super-Power.
China, a Super-Power.
Mexico, a third world country.
Am I painting a picture here ?
BLAME the white man,,,,my son does.
