parents are giving their boys WEAK whimpy girly man names these days. No wonder most kids have no backbone in the last 10-20 years.

In the preschool I work at we have a little boy named Richard. We also have a Larry, Matthew, Micheal, 2 Christopher's, and a Joseph and James. Last year we had a Franklin with the nickname Frankie and one of the little girls has a brother Frank Jr.

They are still around. SD

Alot of parents put the traditional names as the middle name either to name after a family member or have something the child can fall back on if their name is too out there!

They went out of fashion so to speak. There are still lovely strong names around (I have never been fond of Frank, Richard etc). Some examples are Michael, James, Stephen, Thomas etc.

Names do go in cycles,Harry,Chuck,Frank and Dick are all nicknames or shortened versions of other names.Harry(Harold),Chuck(Charles),Frank(Franklin),Dick(Richard). Winston and Dick have fallen victim to PO(political correctness).

times change and so do names, you rarely hear anyone name their son Wilbur, Herman, Hubert or Abner. I work in a school and I hear names like Michael, Richard, Robert, Frank, Greg, Mark all the time.

ha ha!! you are a funny guy - well, dick and richard would be the same huh? Well Winston tastes good, so, I bet that advertsement ended that one..

hey, live with it - - the times they are a changin' - before, in cave man days, you needed a strong guy and the chicks wanted to breed with the Dick who could drag the deer home, but now, it is the nerdy girlie men who are most likely to be the best providers.. its nature man - get with the times..

A name has nothing to do with the outcome of how a person is.
