Performing art is art forms shown on the stage. The performer communicate through the various methods to the audience and entertain them. Dancing and singing on the stage are examples. This is a part of Fine arts. If you dance for yourself, it is not a performing art. Typical examples are Bale, Dramas, Recitation, etc., The Indian Bhartnatyam, Kathakali etc., are excellent performing arts. This is art because, the gestures and movements are so intricate and hold several meanings for you to explore.

When I found a canvas too restrictive to express myself I made sculptures. Then I found sculpture too formal a medium, there was so much that as a young artist in a vibrant world I could say if I liberated myself from the restrictions of a solid object static in time. For me the years I dedicated to performance art were magical. Now I have returned to sculpture, as I approach late middle age I respect anything that can resist time.
A good performance artist believes in what he does, if you don't understand it talk to the artist.
