im using windows xp but the copy is not genuine. i bought a new printer (Epson C45, USB port) and it used to be working before but i had a problem days after microsoft said the copy wasnt genuine...i couldnt find an epson printer driver in my add/remove programs (but it was installed before). its seemed to be not working anymore and when i tried to reinstall, it wouldnt install. does it have something to do with my not genuine copy of the windows or is there any other problem besides that?

Your operating system is defective. I recommend replacing
it with one of:

http://fedora.redhat.com
http://www.opensuse.org
http://www.debian.org
http://www.ubuntu.org
http://www.slackware.org
http://www.freebsd.org
http://www.opensolaris.org

None of these operating systems require licensing
fees and there is no concept of a genuine copy vs.
a non-genuine copy.

it's probably another problem. the genuine windows thing only brings up a nag screen(according to m$). at one point they considered shutting-down the un-genuine ones but that met harsh criticism. to get rid of the nmag, search for "remove WGA".
Try checking to make sure the usb is connected and uninstall/reinstall the printer/drivers

YEAH, you cant use pirated or a duplicate copy of windows XP if you have internet connection..lol. My friend had the same problem and it was worst. It used to get all warnings even when computer starts, on his boot screen, and when he shut downs his computer. There are many problems, and you might face virus, adware, spyware problems, my friends computer got hell slow, and he had all these problems too, many problems. And its all coz of using duplicate windows XP, because your also connected to internet and they kind of obviously gets to know your copy is not genuine as ur connected. Well i have heard that if you get cought you might be arrested or something, but thats in exeptional cases i dont know, but yeah dont worry, just get the genuine one or stop using interent
