Well if Grandpa is correct at least we will save the shipping cost of sending the bodies home...because the bodies will simply be turning up here in the USA from an Iraqi extremist/terrorist government with oil revenues used to prop up terror cells throughout America.
The Iraqi people are accustomed to being ruled by fear and it will take time for them to get used to a Democracy.
Your Grandpa should be honored and respected amongst all Americans and I personally would like to thank him for his and your families sacrifices.

100% correct. Hitler took the freedoms of the people for "security" like what GWB is doing right now. He's just doing it at a slower rate. Kinda goes with the saying of dropping a frog into a pot of boiling water, he'll jump out. Drop him in warm water and slowly bring it to a boil and you just sit and await your death.

The reason for being in Vietnam is completely false. The Vietnamese never attacked a patrol boat. The Gulf of Tonkin was staged. This is declassified government documents. What happened: 58,000 dead US soldiers, 1.5mil Vietnamese dead!

Well you grandma and grandpa are all wrong and they were wrong then too. This is not Vietnam and the casualty rate is the lowest in history. Yes I know they are people , but right now they are soldiers and they have a job to do . What in hell that has to do with the patriot act I don't know. Why don't you read the damn thing and find out just what it is.

If you are a vet I thank you for your service but if you are a Kerry well you get no respect from me past your service.

First off, Thank You Sir for your service to our country. It is because of YOU that my children and I can live freely in the greatest country ever! Now, to answer your question.....I don't know! If the "Patriot Act" stops terrorists from flying airplanes into our buildings, or stops a suicide bomber from blowing up one of our schools or malls than NO!!! But, being that so many thwarted attacks are NEVER reported I guess we will never be allowed to truly make that call on our own. Peace my fellow patriot!

I don't know, did the Jews attack the Nazis and say that they wanted to rule the world? The answer is no, just to let you know. Now you imply that the Patriot act, which closes the holes in our national defense that allowed Mohammed Atta and a group of foreign terrorists to infiltrate our country, train to fly jets in our own schools, and to attack the WTC on 9/11, is a Nazi tool. How so?
Are the police nazis when they stop a criminal from burning a building, killing people? Are American's nazis for wanting the acts of 9/11 to never happen again?
Or are you so completely clueless to history and brainwashed by Hollywood, that you wish to "embrace your enemies" even as they stab you in the back?
sheesh

Well, it's more of a Fascist movement type thing. The current administration owes much of its philosophy, terror mongering and power grabbing features to the Fascists.

In total agreement with your Grandmother.

An analogy would be a Major league baseball team compared to a high school team.

Nazism is the worst case scenario, a horrific nightmare.

The Patriot Act takes rights away but it is more like "testing the waters" to see if people swallow these restrictions. If this flies the govt. may take more away and move towards the worst case scenario.

We're not there yet though.

You're on the right track, though the Patriot Act doesn't advocate a social cleansing, it does grant powers that are unconstitutional and should be repealed.

No.

As for the parallels between Viet Nam and Iraq, perhaps your Grandma, Grandpa, and you should do the research yourselves into the lessons of the Viet Nam War rather than listen to the left-wing version of history. The primary lesson (and why so many died) is DON'T LET POLITICIANS RUN A WAR.
