It's construction. Square is cheaper, round takes more engineering and isnt practical for mass production. Although sqaure is bulkier, its easier to transport, to stack and to fold. Round, as crazy as this may sound, is too complicated. You try making a "round" box and see how hard it is.

because boxes are usaully square and due to the corners it's easiear to get the pizza out.

in the UK the corners are used to house the little dip pots from the takeaway

also according to my bf the square ones are easier to make and therefore also cheaper

because it costs a lota money to make a round box and i like my pizza without corners or edges
