My mouse used to work well. Recently, I plucked it off to lend to another user. I have since connect it to my USB port again. Now, whenever I switch on my computer. the mouse is deactivated. I have to pluck off my mouse from the USB port and re-connect before the mouse would work again. Does anyone knows why? I appreciate any answers. Thank you!

The only thing that I can think of to suggest is to update your USB Controller drivers. Open your Device Manager (in Control Panel) and click the plus sign next to USB Controllers. Look for one that says "Standard USB Controller" or something very similar to that. Then right click it, hit properties, and select "Update Drivers". If it finds an update, it should update it to an Enhanced USB Controller (updating it from USB 1.1 to 2.0).

If it's already an Enhanced controller, I really don't know what else to tell you, unfortunately, other than to try another mouse. You may want to check around in your BIOS and make sure none of the settings for USB are set up weird, although I seriously doubt that would be the problem.
