Stereotyping is when you classify someone by what you expect them to be because of something that they already are, such as a religion, or even because of a lable, like saying that someone is smart because they're a nerd.
Labeling is when you classify someone as part of a certain group, based on any observation, true or not.

This is nonsense, stereotyping is a wonderful skill, beats hunt and peck by at least 45 words per minute. Typing with one hand sucks.
Labeling is also good. How else could you keep track of your underwear. For example, without a label you wouldn't know if the label went on the inside, the outside front or back; how could you change your underwear?
I'm not sure about Emos, Chavs or Goths but I think they are some kind of designer underwear.

The stereotype is the behavior (attributes, characteristics, etc) associated with a person, or group of people, based on color, gender, race, creed, etc.
Stereotyping can be both positive and negative, depending on the situation. It can arise from malice, or facts known. Typically, stereotypes don't just pop up out of the blue. There is usually some truth behind them, be it good or bad.

Labeling is: You are a blank.
