A wrist watch is a 'computer' that calculates time. A gas gage in a car is a 'computer' that calculates how full the tank is. A digital computer may be far more complex because it translates numbers and lettters and other symbols into series of bits and bytes using 1's and 0's and manipulates them 'as programmed' at lightning speed, but it can not 'think' any better than a flipped coin. Of course a computer might be programmed to simulate human thought, especially logic, and can actually beat chess masters at chess, but there is nothing within to think 'Oh Boy' I beat him. That response must be programmed too. AI (Artificial Inelligence) trys to use computers to use human-type logic and learn from past experiences (like humans). For example if a coin landing 'heads' causes a green light and a 'tails' lights red (more often than not), it may associate heads with green in the future (until proven incorrect). A computer must be programmed to shed tears and must be given artificial valves and liquids but that does not mean we feel sad. I must now rest my digits, so long. (00101110111010111......

So let us see this completely.
Computer is better than man in one way but man is better than computer in another way. Computer can do calculations faster but when it comes to logical thinking man is best. That is why computers just can't talk with you.... understand you...... even know it is you......... it functions according to programs provided to it.
An apple and a mango is kept infront of you. You will go for your favorite. But the computer doesn't even know it is mango or apple. This is logical thinking.
In this field computers will always be below man.
Hope this helps......

A computer cannot think and cannot function more than a human because you are still controlling it now but you can't do it, were it to think and function more than you!

Computers can only CALCULATE. It does this by using electric components, such as transistors. But a computer can't THINK. That is something us humans can do, but a machine will never exceed our thinking capabilities because it can't. Computers need us to function (we input stuff into it). The only thing it does is output whatever we input into it, after having been processed through whatever process WE told it to do. Computers can't reason, think, or do anything intelligent. They only calculate.

It has no thoughts. It is just a machine. May be in future they will start thinking. Good stuff for SF.

Computers don't THINK.
All they do is to perform our jobs.
We do the coding & create softwares which computers use to do tasks at greater speeds. That's it.
