Find a backup school - move on - sitting and doing nothing will do you no good at all. If you're altogether desperate, reapply during the summer after wait lists have cleared. But the chances of your getting in are remote.

Working at Burger King won't make your transcript more attractive next year.

First, why was it your dream school? Was your dream realistic?

I just accepted a student who will transfer to my school and she was thrilled because it was her "dream school" and she did not get accepted last year. She found out what was lacking, spent the year at another school working hard to improve her skills, and then reapplied. What a different a year can make. And you know what? I'll bet she is going to be doubly happy here because she knows what she had to do to make her dream come true in getting accepted. She won't take it for granted I am sure.

So if it really is your dream school, maybe you just need to prepare a little more and try again next year.

well i had a similar situation...I was doing good in high school up until the last year and i became this huge pothead and started skipping school and class ALL THE TIME. I applied Early tho and got into my dream school. Then around march when my GPA really started to suffer overall I got a letter that unaceptapted me. They suggested that i went to a community college to get my GPA up and then transfer to their school. I ended up going to a branch of the Ohio state university (which was not my dream school) and then i just transfer to the main osu and said screw that old dream school cause they didn't believe in me enough to give me a shoot!

well since you have not told me what college you want to enter, I'm going on the British side of things. There are foundation years where you enroll and you don't have to show your HS GPA or anything. You just have get more than the required marks for the university you want to enter. Foundation year programs are long but it gets you the college.

I entered a foundation year to enter University of New south wales australia. I originally wanted to enter Oxford university but was rejected. I'm not complaining because I'm in one of the best universities in Australia.
