I would love to tell you but somehow I think we'll be going against each other in the debate....
Your debate doesn't happen to be on the 22nd of March does it?
If it is, hi! I'm going to be your fellow debater.
It's a very long stretch to think I'm not going to face you because what are the odds that you have debate next week and the topic is banning fast food advertisements?
Well, I hope I hear from you. Good luck.
A piece if advice, maybe you should ask your parents or surf the internet if you haven't already...

No and here is why. It is not the fast food company's responsibility to monitor what people eat. People have free will and can do whatever they please. They choose to eat at fast food places, they choose how much they eat and how much they eat. The advertisements only provide a visual as to what is offered. If people are too weak to resist then that is their fault and the company's benefit. As far as marketing to children, it is the parent's responsibility to make sure their children eat nutritious foods, not a fast food company's. A parent, for the most part, controls a childe finances and eating habits. Don't blame advertising for obesity, blame the people. If they can go out and get fast food then certainly they can go to a grocery store, take a walk, go to a gym, etc. Blaming advertisers for people's choices is ridiculous.

No, it's free enterprise. Should bars be banned because people abuse alcohol? No. What about Non Fast food restaurants, many obese people go to them and over indulge. What we need to do is get people to take responsibility for their health and well being. I eat fast food, not everyday and not every week. As a person responsible for my health and well being I know better.
Another thought, cigarette commercials were banned from TV it never hurt the tobacco industry, people continue to smoke, fully aware of the dangers. Once again people are looking for excuses for their problems instead of realizing they are the ones to blame.
Having the government step in and trying to solve personal issues is not the answer.

good question... im kind of a free speech person, but yeah fast food costs society a lot of money. obesity is a huge burden on the healthcare system, i dont know how many hundreds of billions of dollars there are in direct and indirect costs. but ultimately i think people are responsible for their own decisions. also, fast food is a broad and diverse industry, yeah you generally think of bad stuff like mcdonalds but not every item on a fast food menu and every fast food restuarant in general is bad. you can get halfway decent meals at places like fazoli's and subway. why should it be illegal to advertise a low fat grilled chicken sandwich or a fat free plate of spaghetti with a side salad? now maybe you could make some criteria, such as foods that have x amount of trans fat or whatever cant be advertised.... but the companies would find ways around it
i like the new mcdonalds commercial that's all serious and talks about how its important to put good nutritious food in your child's stomach, then shows a little black girl smiling and cowing down on deep fried chicken nuggets and fries. i literally laughed out loud when i saw that commerical for the first time. sadly though there are enough retarded people in society that either unconsciously or consciously said "hey i should take my kid to micky dee's to get some good food"

It all depends if people can advertize every single piece of junk food in the world but nor fast food than now but if they start banning all unhealthy stuff than yes. I think they should really get banned is the salads as they claim they are so healthy but in actuallity that are very fattening.

No, it shouldn't be banned, fast food restaurants also have the right to advertise just like any other business...people can decide what and when to eat.

Franchise speedy food like ayamas or marry brown maximum in all probability is very own by way of those politicians. in an attempt to sell close by enterprise they ban speedy food commercial i assume? i think of the main reason might weight problems the 1st optimum ailment in Malaysia. maximum ailment in medical institution are weight problems proper ailment. Eg. Diabetes, cardiovascular ailment, endometrial maximum cancers etc. drugs for those illnesses aren’t much less costly. A coronary heart affected person on acceptable medical care maximum in all probability spends approximately RM 15/day avg. yet then I gotta admit la they are piece of brainless ppl. No.
Although I do feel that the majority of fast food restaurants have food that is cheap and fattening, there are some places that have healthy options i.e. Arby's marketfresh sandwiches, El Pollo Loco flame grilled chicken.
Some of the advertisements recently have been marketing their healthy choices like the apple dippers and salads.

Good Question... If we banned them then we would almost have to ban all forms of advertisements as everything has come down to discrimination at some point or another and this would just be another open outlet for discrimination.
