It is a sad fact of life that as we age people often get wrapped up in acquiring wealth and material goods while loosing touch with the little things that make them happy.

When I got married a couple of years ago, I had a medieval wedding (yes, it was a blast!) and I put together coloring books of knights/maidens/castles/dragons/etc. for the kids that were going to be there. Stringing the pages together with ribbons (in my wedding colors) was the last task I had to finish before the wedding. The night before the wedding my bridesmaids and I sat in my house and put these them together in a short time but spent the rest of the evening coloring and laughing. It was a lot of fun and to this day I still have one of the pictures (a knight on bended knee kissing a maiden's hand) on my refrigerator door.

By the way, the coloring books went over so well that the adults were borrowing them from the kids!

No. It is never, ever too old to color in a coloring book. At the Old Folks Home, that is one of the Activities for the residents. It is especially useful for those patients with Dementia.

well, if that is the only thing you do, then good for you. but if a mom has a company with hundreds of employees worldwide, i don't think that she'd enjoy color a coloring book with her kids. a vacation to a tropical island sounds better!!! and her kids will learn a lot more in travelling with mom.

Dude, check it out--when we were young, our parents felt that coloring books were too limiting for the imagination, so I totally missed out on that experience....
NOW, I'm like "move over, short stuff, gimme that Barbie book!"
