Well if your womb is closed then that is a good sign. Many many women still have periods when they are pregnant. My mother in law was still getting periods when she was 4 months along.Your doing the best thing by resting, and you got a scan tomorrow so try not to worry to much, i now it is easy to say then do. Hope everything goes OK for you both tomorrow.

I had bleeding and spotting with all 5 of my pregnancies. My 4th resulted in a miscarriage and I am now 22 weeks pregnant.
It *can* be normal to bleed/spot. When I had my miscarriage there was no doubt that's what it was. Once I started bleeding it got very, very heavy fairly quickly and the cramps were unbelievable. With my other 3 and this one I spotted around the 6 week mark for a day or 2. Usually after having sex. Just relax. The fact that your cervix is closed is an awesome sign and the scan will hopefully be able ease your mind.
Take Care of yourself. Here are some good links on spotting during early pregnancy.

Good luck!

It sounds like you are doing all the right things - seeing a doctor and resting. Bleeding in early pregnancy can be due to many reasons. Lots of women have bleeding and then go on to have normal pregnancies. Unfortunately, it can also be a sign of miscarriage.
The strength of the line you get on a hpt isn't necessarily indicitive of the strength of HCG in your body so don't read too much into that. Some bleeding at around the time your period would normally be due is quite common, but you cannot have a true 'period' when you are pregnant.

I was 6 weeks along when I started bleeding. I freaked and went to the doctor. They did an ultrasound...of course the baby was still too small but they could see there was something there. They then did a blood test to see if my HGC hormones were doubling...they were. I bled again at 8 weeks...I was freaking out, terrified I was miscarrying....another ultrasound showed the baby was fine, but I had a placental abruption (the placenta was seperating from the uterus)....I was put on bed rest. I bled again at 18 weeks....the baby was fine, the placental abruption resolved itself. I bled again at 32 weeks......They thought I might go into labor early.....All and all I ended up giving birth late to a very healthy 9 lb 6 oz boy.

Bleeding in pregnancy is normal. I know its scary, but the most important thing is not to stress. Just relax and follow the doctors orders.

It is pretty scary when you bleed during pregnancy. Good for you going to get the scan, it's great that you have consulted with your doctor. I had some light bleeding for the first 3 months of my first pregnancy. I still had a 9lb 6oz boy who was very healthy. I pray that every thing turns out as well for you and your little one. Keep laying low!

I have been spotting since about week 6, have heard the baby's heartbeat on numerous occasions and had a scan and everything seems fine. If your womb is closed then that is a good sign.

I am not surprised you are scared. There is a possibility that you might be losing the baby but this can only be truly determined with either a scan or taking a pregnancy test in a few weeks' time.

I think you need to go back to the doctor and put your mind at rest one way or the other.

I hope everything works out well for you.

It is true that you can still have periods while youre pregnant, my friend did all the way through. The fact that your womb is closed is a good sign I would say. And youre going for a scan tomorrow so its not too long to wait. I hope everything is okay for you, good luck!

.I don't think it's a good sign the bleeding so early even if you had said 6 months I still don't think it a good sign. Be careful and go to all you doctor appointments let them know any changes especially it at any time you have pain with the bleeding. Good luck to you you wish you and the baby well.
