If you follow the argument that it cannot be alive because it does not consume energy, convert that energy, store that converted energy in another form, and then use that stored energy for a purpose, ie; growth, then no. Light is not alive.
However, if you anthropomorphise it, as in; 'the afternoon light danced against the curtains', then yes, it is alive.

In the physical world light is a form of energy. Its speed is a fundamental constant in physics: 186,282 miles/sec. It reflects, refracts, bends in a gravitational field. Its basic unit is a photon. Nothing there says it is alive, but it is connected to life, as the earth is fed my sunlight. This definition of light connects it to our body.

In a philosophical sense light can be taken as knowledge. It is a new revealing or revelation. It is a piercing, moving force that drives out darkness. It seems that this definition of light connects it to our mind.

In a spiritual sense light is an aura that comes from the inner spirit. It is a personality field. It emits from the spirit that is alway giving; giving love, giving knowledge, giving faith. Apparently this definition of light connects it to our soul.

In the Bible (Genesis) God says "Let there be light." In the Bible (John) it says concerning Jesus, "In him was life, and that life was the light of men." The Bible also says in 1John, "God is light." Again it seems that light is connected to life in such an intrinsic way.

Is light alive? I guess light is alive, in the same sense as love and faith are alive. Thanks for the question. Peace.

LIGHT!?in life-this is your vision in life, your purpose and your mission.to make it alive you should know what's your real meaning of life to you.as much as possible make the best of it-don't waste any single second make it worthy.you can't bring back the past again-make the past as your inspiration, guide and learn a lesson from that past.

i personally believe that all matter
comes from god
i believe that trash cans have souls
or actually manifestations of the great spirit
that animates our flesh and minds
i think that think of some things like animals and plants
as living and other things like rocks
as not living
can be a helpful distinction
for scientific purposes
it is more perceptive
to realize that the earth is your mother
the sky is your father
not seperate souls
but one spirit animating all things
creating them all
constantly changing form
like a cosmic dance
