Feckless people that are to ego centric and self centred will always try and put the boot in to anyone at anytime. Friends, family are no different they are just sorry afterwards if you tell them. Colleagues or acquaintances - different matter.
The thing to keep in mind is that when they say spiteful or hurtful things, they are doing it to put you down, because they maybe intimidated or jelaous of you!
They maybe used to you being quiet and lacking in self confidence, but now you are starting to get your go back, then they feel inferior to you!
Ignore them and their words, parents always used tosay that dreadful cliche "sticks and stones" but you know what, it works. Do you really care what these people have to say about how you present yourself?
Myself being a lard lord with no hair and glasses, you learn to just ignore people and get on with life. Words sting, but for how long? You put some cream on, it goes away again and is forgotten.
My advice to you, sincerely, put some cream on.

lets put it this way> 99% of critisism is just pure jealousy. People dont want to see you happy- and do you know why? Because it makes them unhappy. They want to see you suffer and beat yourself up and they stand over you thinking " poor little so and so, cant keep it together" well fu ck them. If someone is kicking you while your down get rid of them. Delete their number off your phone and ignore their calls and texts. Gradually you will lose contact with the people who wanted to see you down and you will be left with a group of true friends who truly care about you. Wouldnt you agree that when youre down its the best time to find out who your friends really are? Keep at it, keep building the confidence and watch how much it bugs them- in the end you'll be left a stunner and oozing confidence whilst they'll be ridden with jealousy and bitterness. Just remember, what they say isnt the truth- its ****. So if you ever find yourself thinking "maybe they're right"- snap yourself out of it ok?
Good Luck

I know exactly how u feel...it sux doesnt it..Its as if people just dont want to see u happy..like there lifes mission is to break u down..or at least thats how i feel..
I dont know exactly y people aact like that but maybe its just that they have sum issues of their own and the only way to deal with these issues is to make someones elses life more miserable then theres..
Or even for the appearence comment..maybe they are insecure about the way they look, so to point out ur faults(or even try to make u look like u have faults whether u do or dont)..they somehow boost there self esteem////

Some people really don't like to see others being happy-it threatens them, especially if they aren't very happy individuals themselves! They obviously resent you in some way, I'd just stay out of their way if I were you and enjoy this new confidence you have.

They probably have a low self esteem themselves so they need to put others down to feel good about themselves. Some people just need others to be miserable to be happy themselves. Just avoid them, or build a strong shell so that they can't tell if their words have an effect or not!

People like this to act like this because they have their own insecurities. Its easier to take the mick out of someone else than to admit they have a problem with themselves. I think they know that you have some insecurities and they are picking on it. I say let them know that this annoys you, and be quite blunt about it, because if don't let them know now, they will just keep on treating you the way they are treating you.

People are threatened by other people with more confidence than they have, so they try to force the other person's self esteem lower than their own. It's called "leveling" or something, according to Dr. Phil.;]

it could selection from reasonable soreness to an agonizing soreness this is hard to describe. I study some years in the past a fact from a doctor who thought it must be likened to a girl have an ovary "knocked" yet i do no longer see how he/she could make that assessment.

Let me tell you something. Those people who talk smack about other people just hate theirselves. Do you know any confident people who intentionally criticize others? Don't let anybody take away your happiness. You deserve better.
