My laptop wont make sounds?

my laptop recently recoverd after i attempted to download windows live i lost all my programs but now it wont even make sounds??

Check your audio drivers, you may have to reinstall them, also make sure you are not muted and the volume is up.

Go to Control Panel, Sounds, hardware, and make sure that your speakers are the default. I just have myn detect them automatically, but if you know what kind of built-in laptop speakers you have make sure you put that on the drop down list. Also make sure your volume on the computer is up and make sure the speaker volume is up.
