I don't think that putting on an act (even a very convincing one) is the answer. If you want to look tough, the best way is to feel tough. So work on your self-esteem. Learn to love yourself. Think positive. You are an awesome person & no one has the right to put you down. You are a unique & beautiful child of the universe & you deserve respect. If people don't respect you, then that's THEIR PROBLEM! Tell yourself that no one can make you feel bad, that what they say doesn't matter. You can do things physically to toughen you up which would have emotional benefits as well: exercise, do karate, lift weights. If you feel fit & strong physically you will automatically carry yourself differently & have more confidence. Dress well, be comfortable but look your best. Looking great is the best revenge & also boosts your confidence. Your posture and body language say a lot about you as well. Are you standing straight, shoulders back? If you stand strong, no one can knock you down. Feel strong. Be aware of your own power. You are in control. You are not a victim. If you look weak, with your posture & facial expressions, you will be an easy target. If you appear strong, they'll back down. So be cold. Let nothing show on your face. Don't let anything get to you. Let it roll off your back. Whatever they say or do, just tell yourself "They're idiots. They don't matter."
The truth is that bullies are the most insecure people around. They are so scared & feel so worthless that the only way they can feel better about themselves is to push others around. Just feel sorry for them. Confident & strong people don't have to pick on others. They are happy with themselves and so are kind to others. Anyone who is ridiculing you is unhappy with themselves. You are not a joke. They are! So laugh at them! Just shake your head, roll your eyes & say to yourself "whatever, loser!"
Or you could start wearing "Happy Bunny" t-shirts. Those are so cool. My favourites are: "I hate everything," "Whatever, you moron" and "make the stupid people shut up"...
Don't let the ******* get to you! They're not worth it!
Good luck! Be strong!

Don't try to look tough Bekky, just be yourself.
What you are feeling from these people are their insecurities. The way that they act toward others is an act that they use to cover up deep seated insecurities.
You are not the joke, in many ways they are.
If you start putting up a false front to adjust to the one they are using you become just like them.
Is that really what you want to become?
Love and blessings Don

Sorry! No speedy fixes or magic potions to handle you. consume a healthful eating regimen & proceed work out & wait - wait - wait - for puberty to run that's course. you will see particularly some ameliorations over the subsequent 5 years before puberty ends - a number of them very important - a number of them no longer. Intimidating won't win acquaintances & impact enemies. you will possibly be able to desire to pay interest on your college artwork - specially how you will spell words so which you will compose a first rate letter - and luxuriate on your teen years at the same time as you nevertheless have time. good success.

why would you want to look tough. every look has a character in it and a character is always a good thing. not everyone has a character.
whats does looking tough look like anyway. is it like scary or something? because looking scary is looking ugly basically.
if they think you are a joke then its not because you don't look tough, its because you are with the wrong people. you don't need approval from other people just to feel good about yourself. you need to know that you are great, if you think you are great then other people will eventually see it too.

I don't think you need to make yourself look tough. God created you a woman. I do think you can be tough without looking tough. Through God's word you can:
1. Defeat the enemy.
2. Be able to ask God for whatever you need and he will provide it.
3. Ask God for protection.
4. Ask God for wisdom.
5. Ask God to order your footsteps.
Don't hang around people who find you as a joke.
