It is possible your PC is dirty :)
If you are comfortable doing so, disconnect power and cables from your PC, open it up, and carefully clean the interior. You can buy cans of spray air from most computer stores and giant retail stores that are made for cleaning a computer.
Ensure you follow the directions on the can, it is possible to freeze and damage your motherboard if you hold the can wrong or get it to close.
I also like to take a small vacuum, like a shop vac, and clean the power supply air intake vents.
Make sure you clean the heat sync on the motherboard every year or so, if it gets clogged up, it can decrease your computers performance, or even possible burn out the main processor on the computer.

If you are not comfortable cleaning your computer, take it to a local computer repair shop and they will clean it for a minimal charge. They can also run a basic diagnostic check on your PC to ensure it is functioning correctly, and you are getting good power flow from the power supply.

Could be a few things...where is the noise coming from the most? If it's in the back of the puter, than either the power supply fan is either going or dirty....if it's in the computer than one of your other fans is either going or dirty...open up the case and see what is making the noise or get a general idea of where the noise is coming from the most. If the noise is from your power supplies fan, you will most likely need a new power supply...if it is coming from the other fans those are easy to change...if it is coming from your hard drive...yikes! That might be a problem coming soon...if it is..I woud back up any and all important stuff and get ready to buy a new one!

There are two things to consider.
1, You may have a lot of dust On the fan - clean it.
2, The fan bearings may have worn. Replacement fans are easy to get and fit

Hope this helps

Regards

BTW, you should aim to clean the inside of your PC at least twice a year.

Prolly a cooling fan for the motherboard that just started spinning its bearings. They'll run great forever, then all of a sudden, you'll have to replace them. Pretty cheap/easy. Open 'er up and if the noise changes when you pressure parts of the fan housing, or tilt its enclosure, replacing it'll fix ya right up.

Could just be that the fan needs replacing, it could be worn.
You need to get it checked though, as if it's not working properly your pc may overheat and cause major damage.

That happened with myn and I had to buy a whole new computer but it's most likely your fan or thing that detects the temperature is broken. Get it fixed IMEDIATLEY because it will need to be replaced if not taken care of.

It is a bearing gone in the fan...don't worry just switch it off at night so it doesn't have to work too hard for no reason...it won't break down!

go to e-bay and get the new protocol EX-400 mod muffler system.....j/k........sounds like u need to get the dust bunnies out of there......shut down the PC , unplug it, "decharge" urself before u touch anything inside......clean the dust and dirt from around the power supply.....if the vents are caked the fan has to work over time to get more air in there to cool the system........good luck...
