The closer job is between Mike Timlin and Joel Pinero. But, Mike Timlin is more likely to get the job. The setup men are Craig Hansen and Manny Delcarmen. Joel Pinero is more likely to be a LRP.

They are going to try Joel Pineiro out in the role first but I am sure he will lose the job because quite simply he isn't that good. Next in line would be Mike Timlin but personally I think Timlin is better suited as a set-up man than a closer. Ultimately what the Red Sox would prefer happens is that Craig Hansen a 3rd year player who they drafted to be their closer of the future steps into the role. But if all else fails don't be surprised to see Papelbon back in the role.

Mike Timlin is the most likely candidate to be the new closer, even though he has had a minor set-back this spring. Other pitchers in the picture are:

Joel Pinero
Brendan Donnelly
Craig Hansen, and
Julian Tavarez could end up being the closer.

They also have J.C. Romero and not many people are talking about him right now so watch for that.

Timlin if hes healthy without a doubt. Red Sox wont be relying on their closer this season. They will slug it out.

It looked like it was going to be perennial veteran and former Blue Jay closer Mike Timlin, but it appears he's on the shelf with an injury.

People kept saying it was going to be Joel Pineiro, but he was roughed up already.

At this point it's a guessing game, but I have a hunch it's going to be either Donnelly or Tavarez.

they will decide between Joel Piniero, Brendan Donnelly, Julian Tavarez, and Mike Timlin. I hope Donnelly wins, becasue Timlin gets hurt too much, Piniero sucks, and Tavarez is too up and down.
