i think that you mean what is really happening when we experience deja vu.
i dont believe that it is known but i have a personal theory that is consistent with your friends experience.
i think that it may be a tiny little blackout and that they probably happen all of the time without us noticing. but, when we see something new and it happens right away, we come to and recognize it as familiar although we dont remember having arrived just a moment ago.
when it happens in a familiar setting, it would not be noticed.

Having that feeling that you've been somewhere or have done something, (at that moment) in the past.

I don't think it's any thing supernatural. Probably something more like your REALIZATION and MEMORY are synchronized. It's like experiencing a LOOP or FEEDBACK as your brain processes incoming information.

As for your friend with the seizures, I'd bet that Deja Vu is actually a SYMPTOM of whatever is wrong with her. It just manifests first.

I have seen...... it is the feeling of being somewhere before, or knowing someone that you have never met. Your friend needs to see a doctor. Seizures are not part of deja vu.

It means that you feel that something has already happened. For example, If you are driving down the street and you see someone pulled over you might think you have already seen it, or in a conversation it feels like you have already had the conversation

It means that for a moment you feel like you have been in a certain place or situation before. Some people think it may be situations from a past life.
