Well, Joe, there is such a thing as real love, which includes nonjudgemental support and respect of another human being no matter what, the enjoyment of being together and having fun (including sex and intimacy), and placing equal weight on each others' happiness. The truth is that very few people experience this in their lifetime. Most people, especially women, are more interested in the image and security of being in a monogomous relationship with someone of the status that they'd like to be with (rich, handsome guy, cop, athlete, etc.) in the lifestyle that they consider ideal (house, minivan/SUV, kids). Anything that's considered a threat to their security and perceived happiness is labeled either "cheating" or "not meeting their needs."

Love is when you put the other persons happiness over your own. If you are truely in love you trust each other because you are soulmates. It is something you feel every time they are near. If they feel the same they will put your happiness over their own also. That is what true soulmates do. Trusting someone is key to making a relationship work, but even though jealousy shouldn't be part of the equation I think it is pretty natural to feel a little jealious now and then. You just can't let it take over or you will end up losing the person you love because they think you don't trust them. Good luck.

You are a slice, aren't ya, Joe?
Love is:
- the ability to understand and share the feelings of others; empathy
- the desire to do something for someone else, just because it feels good to give of yourself.
- in some bizarre way, love has probably saved a few men's lives; as in when, instead of choking them or snapping their necks, I just shook my head and walked away.
- love is that special look in the eyes of your child.
- "Love doesn't make the world go round, love is what makes the ride worthwhile." - Elizabeth Browning
- "Love is the difficult realization that something other than oneself is real." - Iris Murdoch
- "We are most alive when we're in love." - John Updike
- "Love is the big booming beat which covers up the noise of hate." - Margaret Cho, comedienne
- "It's just a ride and we can change it any time we want. It's only a choice. No effort, no work, no job, no savings and money, a choice, right now, between fear and love. The eyes of fear want you to put bigger locks on your door, buy guns, close yourself off. The eyes of love instead see all of us as one." - Bill Hicks 1961-1994
As much as your questions both amaze and disgust me, Joe, I sincerely hope that one day you find someone to love...and that they love you back.

I think there are different kinds of love. The love I feel for my daughter says to me I will give my life for you if that has to happen. The love I have for my brother says I know you are a crazy person, but I still love you. The love I have for my ex-wife says you are the mother of my daughter. The love I have for myself says take care of yourself so you can take care of your daughter. I agree though love is a confusing emotion sometimes and makes humans do weird stuff. Take care and Good Luck.

love is when you dont want to be with no other person in the world. your thinking about them 24-7. you would sacrifice anything for them.and you would get jealous easy if you see him/her with another person.love is also that tingley wierd shy feeling when your around them, but talking and acting to the flow is a sign of a good couple. love is really a mystery, but love always ends with a tear.

After reading all your posts this morning, I think it's safe to say that your best bet is to be single, sleep around, and forget about love. You don't seem to have one shred of respect for women, for marriage, or for general common decency. Be a man-ho and be happy with that.
