I am an 18 year old sports fanatic and going to vegas in september. i was wondering if you can just watch the sports in the sports book without betting or getting kicked out

If you were over 21 you could sit in the sports book and watch without placing a bet. If you're under 21 security is going to ask you to move along. If you're under 21 you are allowed to walk through a casino, but not stop, sit down or play.
I do have a solution to your problem though. You can watch sports in the best sports book in Las Vegas, do it all on the level and nobody will bother you. There is a fast food place in the Las Vegas Hiltons sports book called "Vegas Subs". They have a stand up counter so the sports and race betters can eat and watch at the same time. Vegas Subs is off to the side in it's own enclosed area and not considered to be part of the casino floor.
If you're staying on the strip you can ride the Monorail, there is a stop right at the Hilton.

Probably not. However, in the NYNY, there's an ESPN Zone restaurant that boasts over 150 televisions - ALL tuned to some sporting event. Sports and food - what more does an 18 year old guy need for an afternoon? =)
