The guy was in his early twenties when he died and look at how far advanced he was in his playing. He puts the majority of today's newer guitarists to shame in my opinion. What do you think?

yes he would, but before he died he had expressed getting bored with his playing of rock/metal, and was looking into getting into some classical playing,
when he was on tour with ozzy , when they got to cities on th tours, he would look for someone to give him lessons in classical, but it usually turned out that he would be the one giving the lessons when he showed up.

I couldn't agree with you more...He was amazing! However, isn't it ironic how after a popular musician dies he becomes an immortal icon, and suddenly everybody talks about him, everyone buys his music, etc. Then the rock star becomes a legend... Anyway YES he would be one of the best if he were alive!
