As a user of Y!A, how can I change my IM name to that of my avatar?

It gives out my real name & surname which I don't want to do.

I set up my original account using my real name.

hank you Mike E but what I mean is if I want to allow people to IM dina, it gives out my real name & I can't change it. Should I just give up trying?
