If you don't want to be poor, get off your *** and go to work. Quit waiting for the government to take care of you. Quit trying to win the lottery and GO TO WORK.

Work hard in school, learn a skill and go to work.

I suggest you research this on you own. A library is a good start. On the Internet all you can possibly receive is opinions. If you're this lazy now, then you will have a first hand experience of what poverty is about.

depending on what size town you live in...get in your car and ride through whatever you have that passes for public housing projects....drive slow, look around, take pictures, stop at the nearest stop and go store that services the residents of that area and talk to some of the people there......if you live through the experience you will have all you need to speak on your subject

You need to narrow your topic. There's a lot of information and debate on this one: Should the governent help poor people or should private charity? Who does a better job?
