Where ever you go to get the piercing done, the price of the piercing includes the jewelery. Unless there is a specific piece that you want and the place you goes does not have it then order the jewelery. You can also ask the piercing studio to special order a piece for you. The pain of the piercing is momentary and quick, it's the discomfort that follows that you may find unpleasant. All my piercings were tender for about 3 three days then the tenderness slowly faded.

Yes, yes it hurts. But the clamp they use to hold your lip for the needle to go thru hurts more than the piercing part itself does. IT sometimes swells and feels tender for a few days, ilke a bad bruise. But the pain isn't really bad or anything, its actually less painful than getting your ears or nose done.
You can buy the jewellry at the piercing shop, or try Ebay. Theres tons of lip jewellry on there. I always have a stud in my lip, not a hoop....

I have my lip pierced. Its a monroe piercing. first of all I love it. thought about getting it done for like 3 years. I was going through some problems got it done && i am so glad cause i LOVE it. second- it doesnt hurt at all really. or atleast i felt no pain. i wouldnt have known the needle had been pushed in but i opened my eyes && seen the needle sticking out. no bleeding not much swelling either. the only thing though is that mine got like a bump thing on the back where my body was rejecting it so skin was trying to grow over it. gross i know but its gone now (( was there for about 2 1/2 weeks))because i rinsed my mouth out for a week with 50/50 peroxide&& water. i got my jewelery at walmart ((hotsilver)) because its cheaper && they had a really small one that looks better with my piercing. your mall probably has someplace with jewelery too.

The pain is completely managable. Its a slight hot sting and then nothing. Its over in seconds anyway.
I recommend that if you want a ring be sure that either:
They put in a large enough ring that if it swells it wont be irritated (because that will hurt) or
They put in a stud first and switch it to a ring a couple o weeks later. If you do this you must let them know that you want to switch it to a ring and they will position it right.

Yes it hurts, but if you want it done, it's really worth the quick pain. You receive the jewelery where you get your lip pierced. Make sure they are reputable. Enjoy it & follow the piercers directions.

I've not had a lip piercing, but know of friends who have had it done. They do numb the area, so it shouldn't hurt, but when the anaestic wears off it does hurt.
Try looking on ebay for the jewellry for it. They have some top designer ones, or cheap ones at good prices.

well, the pain will always be there when you pierce something. so if your friends say that there's no pain at all, ask them to shut up :)
okay, the jewellery for it can be bought at Yellow, 77th Street or other shops.

Looks horrible - don't. I can never understand why human beings want to mutilate themselves.
