I am sexually involved with my best friend. Fortunately for me, she is also my wife.
As far as you're concerned, the decision is yours. He's pretty much told you his view of things. If you enjoy this arrangement and your "freedom", keep it the way it is. If you don't, then don't.
The one thing you can't do is stay in the relationship the way it is and expect him to change/become committed to you. While that is theoretically possible, the odds are that it won't.
Good luck.

it is hard to remain friends after sex occures sounds to me like he wants sex from u and as many others that he can get watch youself andhim in the weeks to come make sure to practice safe sex in case he is out doing others by telling u that u are a 'free girl' i am guessing that he sees no ties between u and u 2 can date or see anyone u wish so now it is up to you which way u want the relationaship to go either continue as friends (no more sex) and you may loose him or become attached then there is no longer a "free girl" and in time u may loose him anyway good luck u 2

1ST OF ALL, OF COURSE YOU ARE FREE, YOU DON'T NEED ANYONE TO TELL YOU, 2ND THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR LOVER BEING YOUR FRIEND, IN FACT IF WE DID THINGS RIGHT, WE WOULD BE FRIENDS 1ST AND LOVERS SECOND. AND 3RD, WAKE UP! LOVERS USUALLY USE EACH OTHER....YOU DID NOT SAY WE ARE IN LOVE, YOU SAID " MY LOVER ". MOST LOVERS ARE JUST THAT THEY MEET FOR SEX WITH NO TIES WHEN THE ACT IS OVER. IF YOU WANT MORE THAN SPEAK UP OR MOVE ON..BUT BE AWARE OF WHAT THIS RELATIONSHIP REALLY IS...

It seems that he's trying to tell you that you are an easy woman and yes, he might be using you to fulfill his selfish desires
