We live on the south coast of England, and the mild winter has meant our lawn is looking a bit long and shaggy. Today is the first time it has been dry enough to think about getting the mower out, other half thinks it's too early, but I reckon it will just make it even harder the longer we leave it.

Set the blades higher than normal, so you don't pull the grass out at it's roots. It'll still be very wet underneath, so try not to walk too much on it. A little top trim is all it needs now. ps. Wish my 'bog' was dry enough.

Get off yer duff and MOW THE LAWN!
In Central California, I had to cut my grass last week, for the first time this year. And I'd waited about a week or two too long-and wished I hadn't have.
Be aware that it'll keep on growing through whatever length of time you choose to procrastinate!
G'luck with that!

I wish I had that problem. In this country we still struggle with so much snow that last week we were snowed in for 3 days, and there, but for the grace of God our neighbour came to the rescue because he had a second floor window he could jump out of. Still I would not like to live in another country. Go Norway!! (And that lawn-thing; wait another month.) Greetings from Norway

i've got mown mine two times already! If this is getting long decrease it - the wintry climate has been mild so this is becoming quickly. many people around the place I stay have been mowing for the previous 3 weeks. I stay in Northumberland, England.

you can mow it now if you like but make sure you don t cut it short leave your blade on a high setting and just neaten it up a bit I won t be doing mine for a few more weeks now though but if it needs cutting do as i said above or you risk pulling all your lawn up as it may feel dry but the soil underneith will still be wet

Normally, people mow lawns when they look like they need cutting and not due to certain dates on a calendar.
