Are they ladybugs or Asian beetles? Asian beetles are a red orange to a yellow whereas ladybugs are a true red and both have the little dots on their back.
Ladybugs do not bite (not that I'm aware of anyway) Asian beetles do bite. Beetles smell horrid when crushed or killed.
Asian beetles usually will collect in a warm corner of your home in the fall.
We get them all the time here in the Midwest.
When they collect in a certain area leave them alone until the temp drops a little (they won't be inclined to fly around if you bother them when it is cooler). Then grab your vacuum cleaner and vacuum them up.
Make sure that you immediately change your vacuum bag and take it outdoors or they will re-infest your home.
Ace hardware sells a product called "Bug Be Gone"-this stuff works great-just keep it away from your children and pets.
If they are really ladybugs they will fly away when the weather gets a bit warmer and they are harmless---And Good Luck!!!

OMG.. Ladybugs are a sign of "good luck" to come your way soon. Seems strange, but its what I have heard.

Look up your local entymologist and arrange to rent, for a time,a substantial group of hillbilly type 'MANLY'bugs. You know the ones I'm talking about. They cuss, burp, drink moonshine, chew tobacco, fart. If they don't run off the 'LADY'bugs, nothing will.
