I don't think so. My mom was 33 when she started going to school for cosmetology and she only went as a part time student. She had to drive 50 miles both ways everyday and had a husband and 2 kids to take care of. She retired a couple years ago. You're never too old to start a career and 30 is definetely not too old to start anything. Good luck with your new career!

heck no. Go for it. It is a great career path, I am an esthetician, and I love the choices I have, I worked in salons and I liked it, most salons run your wage on Comission, some will give you some sort of hourly until you get an established clientel. but it also gives you the freedom to work from home. that's the route I have taken. i made more money that way. It is also a fun career path, you meet so many people and you hear all their stories about their lives, and it is rewarding to know you make a difference, you make your clients look and feel their very best.

Depending on what state your in...it takes less than a year, but plan on spending 2-3 years apprenticing and building up a good client base.
