I tried to play music on my bose system and dont work, tried plugging into pc with itunes and dont work, cant use any functions on ipod, its frozen half way through a song??? tried the lock bar etc and the menu for 6 seconds and nothing, i have downloaded the latest version of itunes and tried that and nothing??? anyone help?

since posting the question the ipod is now playing all my music . if i go back it says do not disconnect ipod. still no change with itunes??

well i tried all those things, its just playing music. it pauses, and goes forward and back now but thats it. no other controlls r working?

This has happened me twice before aswell. just let the battery run out and when it turns back on it should be fine.

That happened to my 80GB iPod vid and 2GB nano too. Instead of letting the battery die, it will take a long long long long long long time............ pretty simple! what I did to my iPods is I pressed the MENU then the pause button. Then an Apple logo should appear on the screen. Another way is to toggle the HOLD button. Means that you keep on pushing the button to HOLD and back to normal again and again. Hope that helped.. =D

virus scan it with antivirus, if it shows in 'my computer' then all you do is, click 'safely remove hardware' on bottom bar, then delete it and reconnect it....
if it still doesnt behave, you will have to restore it, losing all your media...
reset it by, sliding 'hold' on then off again, then holding menu and centre button down untill apple logo comes up... g/luck
