There were certainly allegations that Julius Caesar was homosexual. The Roman historian Suetonius -
"When Thermus sent Caesar to Bithnyia, he wasted so much time at King Nicomedes' court that a homosexual relationship between them was suspected, and suspicion gave way to scandal....:
However, Suetonius has long been criticised for using slander and gossip as quoted fact. Suetonius was no great fan of the deeds of Caesar or the early Roman emperors.
As homosexuality was looked down upon by the upper classes, it would have certainly been in Julius Caesars interests for the advancement of his own political career to avoid this. Caesar also had many critics who would have done anything to discredit him.
Either way, its an open question - one that has little bearing on historical events.
How much these were rumours.

As the question is written the answser has to be no.
Fundamentally the use of the word gay in the modern sense as opposed to the ancient is flawed. Also unless Im mistaken a gay or homosexual person in a single sex relationship is gay someone who mixes is bisexual and not "gay". By that argument Caesar was not gay.
As to Caesar it was believed that he had a homosexual affair with King Nicomedes in Bithynia, indeed rumours persisted throughout his career.
The book also highlights an incident where a roman legionaire killed an officer who had tried to force himself upon him, he was awarded the corona civica for his actions.

Our term "gay," in the sense of a primary attraction to one's own sex, does not apply very well to ancient cultures. Leaving that issue aside, and imagining that this question is primarily about Julius Caesar and not primarily about what it means to be "gay," he was said to have been extremely attractive -- and, of course, he was both successful and powerful as a military leader and then as the ruler of Rome. As success and power attract people now -- people of all sexual orientations -- so they did then, with less opprobrium attached to how a man who was the object of desire of so many people chose to respond.

Giaus Julius Ceasar was just like any other upper class Roman, meaning, most of the upper class had a "boy toy" as it was part of the culture, similar to the Greeks. I doubt that it can be proven he was gay, however, you can be almost certain that most men of Roman nobility has had some "gay" experiences with another male...most likely a younger man or a boy, as was the custom.

You have to consider the fact that in roman times homosexuality was not frowned on and that sex was about beauty not gender.
it was socially acceptable to have a male lovers and or female ones as well.
as for being gay? doubtful, he had many love affairs with women throughout his life, and there is a lot of evidence to prove it, while almost no credible evidence shows he had any male lovers, although realistically we can assume there were a few.
