Oh NO ! Don't EVEN get me started!
I think the news media is often biased .
Very often what is reported is not the WHOLE truth.
Remember too, that the media relies on income from advertising so, very often, the media is selective about publicizing negative information about their source of income.

As an example:
* a news paper gets a story about Toyota losing a major class action lawsuit regarding the quality of their vehicles.
* same news paper has HUGE $$$ advertising account with Toyota
*Do they print the story on the front page of the Auto Section ? Or would they bury a tiny story in an obscure section of the paper?

As my Father used to say: "Believe none of what you read, & only half of what you see."

Good advice if you think about it.

The media informs while not all the time giving the complete story. It's up to the public to educate themselves by researching the truth.

media spreads information of all kinds and information of any kind is education to the public, like the news it tells us what is going on in the world right now that way we come to know the situation of not only the country but the whole world, the news media informs us about the political and economical and development that is going on around the world

The media attempts to say they do it for the public good but they only report the stories that get the ratings. Take Iraq - how often do we hear about the deaths and how often do we hear about how many schools have been built? The "public good" is no longer the driving force behind the media.
