I hear different opinions about what type pool lining is best. I'm planning the installation of one for summer.

My pool is tile. I had a plastic lining but I found that for some reason the plastic\fibre glass lining one that I had taken out developed leaks.
Having said that I may have had a lemon installation or product and the plastic\fiberglass may be the best.
I think that some of the problems come from the soil and the geography of the area you live in. I suggest you consult your neighbors who can tell you their experiences. It was a neighbour who told me that the tile would be more sturdier in our neighborhood.

We have a fibreglass pool, that suits us.

concrete is supposed to be adaptable
