I am moving to Canada. Since I will be new there and wont be having any credit history or job initially, will I be able to get any credit card or will I have to work for a couple of months and then apply for one?

You'll need to build up a credit rating, which will be zero when you first arrive.

Depending on where you're coming from, try speaking with your bank in your home country before you leave - to see if they can assist in opening a bank account there in advance, particularly if you're with a bank that has international offices or affiliations. Alternatively, speak with a bank in your home country which has branches in the Canada (e.g.: Citibank, HSBC). Either way you should still be able to open an account once you're there if you have appropriate ID and some cash with you. You'll most likely find that they'll issue a debit card with that.

Once you're in Canada, have a job, and have proved income and so on, you should be able to apply for a credit card.
